Agro refers to agriculture and agroforestry is a farming system that integrates with the forest. The species of fruit and timber trees are simultaneously cultivated with crops such as rice, corn or beans. The agroforestry system is based on the principle of diversity and uses the native flora dynamics of species to bring the species that are beneficial to the ground. The system also provides products for the farmer.
The agroforestry is a solution to degraded land and healthy food without the use of pesticides. They are native plants that provide fertilizer for decomposition. The soil is never exhausted because it is always renewing itself.
An example of successful agroforestry is the Ernst Gosht in Bahia.
