Transgenics are Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). It means that  living beings  suffer modifications in a laboratory by incorporating features of other species  genes found in nature.

There are four main GM crops planted in Brazil: soybean, corn, cotton, canola. Only a small group of technology industries controls the global market.

It is a technology that allows human being to perform crossing from one species to another. It is not a natural process.  The technology has been  designed to resist herbicides and kill insects crops, but pose serious risks:

• shortage of seeds unchanged. The companies are pushing farmers to purchase genetically modified product.

• Emergence of more resistant pests.

• Use of carefree way of pesticides as the crop is resistant to insecticides and pesticides.
